Phuket one-week bareboat
Ao Po Grand Marina
Begin your Thai sailing adventure at our base in Ao Po Grand Marina. On your first day you’ll get to know the yacht that will become your constant companion as you sail the beautiful Andaman Sea. Ao Po Grand Marina has everything you need to provision for a weeklong ocean voyage, as well as creature comforts including a gym, swimming pool and Thai massage centre.

Ao Po Grand Marina or Tonsai Bay, Ko Phi Phi Don
Wake early on your second day to maximise your time out on the Andaman Sea. You’ll sail south from Ao Po Grand Marina and spend the next six hours cruising the scattered islands that give this part of the world its unique character. Anchor at Tonsai Bay, where you’ll find one of the best beaches in Southeast Asia. Rock climbers scale the spectacular cliffs that border the bay, while divers and snorkellers can discover one of the most diverse spots in the Andaman Sea.

Tonsai Bay to Ko Lanta
Make the short ocean voyage southeast to Ko Lanta. Ko Lanta has the opposite vibe to lively Tonsai Bay, with a relaxed, quiet atmosphere guaranteed to help you unwind. Visit traditional villages and hike through the rainforest, or enjoy some of Thailand’s best food in the island’s local restaurants. Ko Lanta is a mecca for divers, and if you’re lucky you might spot manta rays and giant whale sharks cruising silently through the clear waters.

Ko Lanta to Ko Muk
Cruise southeast from Ko Lanta, rounding the coast of Ko Lanta Yai through the eastern reaches of the Andaman Sea. Ko Muk sits in a group of three islands and many more scattered islets, offering sheltered and attractive anchorage for visiting sailors. You’ll find excellent beaches on both the north and south shores of the island, so seek out a quiet spot and relax on the pristine sands.

Ko Muk to Ko Racha Yai
Cruise west across the bright, blissful expanse of the Andaman Sea, drifting past Thailand’s many islands on your way to distant Ko Racha Yai. Strewn with beaches and coves perfect for sunbathing, Ko Racha Yai is also a favourite of sport fishermen and divers. Cast a line into the waters in the hopes of landing sailfish, mahi-mahi and giant trevally.

Discover Ko Racha Yai
Underwater sculpture park
Dive Ko Racha Yai’s submerged sculpture park to come face to face with giant stone elephants and other incredible underwater art.
Suggested lunch spots
Break up your journey through the Andaman with a rest stop at Ko Tu Kon Li Ma. This tiny island is one of the most dramatic and unspoilt in the Andaman, so anchor here and soak up the tranquillity.
Ko Racha Yai to Ko Naka Noi
Sail north past the island of Phuket, with its countless bays, beaches and small towns beckoning from the shoreline. A long coastal cruise past the bays of Sapam and Po will eventually take you to Ko Naka Noi. A short distance from our base at Ao Po Grand Marina, Ko Naka Noi is the perfect place to spend your last day and night in Thailand reliving your favourite activities. You can swim, snorkel and sunbathe at the island’s many beaches, enjoy water sports such as Hobie cat sailing and paddleboarding or try big game fishing to catch that elusive record sailfish.

Ko Naka Noi to Ao Po Grand Marina
With Ao Po Grand Marina such a short distance away, you’ll have the opportunity to spend the last day of your bareboat adventure exploring everything that Phuket and the Andaman Sea has to offer. Arrange a dive trip to spot magnificent manta rays and gentle whale sharks, head for deeper water for a spot of game fishing or enjoy some exciting water sports nearer to shore.
