Our Procida flotilla sailing holidays are ideal for families as they provide a perfect blend of independence and support – your own yacht and space, but opportunity to meet with like-minded sailors and families doing the same route as you. 

As the lead boat remains nearby, families can enjoy a safe and relaxed sailing experience, creating lasting memories in a shared adventure on the open sea. 

Our Pontine Islands Flotilla is perfect for families, especially those travelling with younger children. Steeped in History, Myth and Legend, the Pontine Islands have remnants of ancient tunnel systems and grottos. Discover Ventotene – the birthplace of the Mermaid Myth – and the shipwrecks that are said to have found their watery resting place, at the hands of the Sirens. Or, enjoy family fun on Ischia, with a TukTuk (Ape/ micro-taxi) Tour of the Island, its phenomenal beaches, hiking routes and volcanic peaks. 

For Couples

Italy is – arguably – one of the most romantic countries in the world, and the Amalfi coast is absolutely one of the most romantic parts of Italy. If sharing incredible dining opportunities and fine wines is your love language, then our Procida Italian Cuisine Flotilla, which will take you to some of the finest locations for food and wine in the country (a foodie paradise), might be the perfect itinerary plan for you. 

Other locations included in our itineraries which make for the perfect for a romantic getaway, include:

• Ischia Port (known for its romantic piano bars and nightlife)
• Forio, (for dreamy Botanical gardens and thermal baths). 
• Sailing across the Gulf Of Naples, taking in the views of the mainland as the ocean sparkles around you. 
• Sorrento (an artist hotspot, known for spectacular views of the bay. Explore The Regina Giovanna for a romantic beach or find one of the many bars and restaurants with truly breath-taking views).
• Capri – most will know to sail the north of the island, looking out for where to stop and explore the infamous Blue Caves – mainly the Grotta Azzurra and its cousin to the south, Grotta Verde- as well as beaches, such as Spiaggia di Marina Piccola and the spectacular Gardens of Augustus. 
• Amalfi Coast – an instagram-approved hotspot for romance, here you will find postcard-worthy pebble beaches set before what appears (from the sea) a wall of buildings – colourful, climbing high above ocean level – also providing some incredible walks (bring sensible footwear!) and quaint eateries.

For a quieter – more quaint sailing experience, consider a bareboat charter around the Pontine Islands – which also sets sail from Procida and showcases the island’s ancient history and Italian charms.

For First-Time Sailors

If it’s your first time sailing from Procida or around the Gulf of Naples and Pontine Islands, we have a few must-see spots. 

• Lingua Beach – close to the main port and a perfect place to begin and end your Procida sailing adventure. 
• The mediaeval ruins and thermal baths on Ischia.
• Ventotene for wreck diving and a truly authentic Italian island experience.
• Palmarola sea stacks and caves – known as The Rifles and Cava Mazzella.
• The Amalfi Coast is also a suitable stop for first-time sailors in this area, and with its famous beaches, view points, restaurants and heritage – it is a must-see destination. 

For Large Groups

There are many yachting options for larger groups when sailing from Procida, we recommend one of our Catamaran’s for larger groups who are after more deck-space for lounging.

Our Monohulls can provide more a thrilling sailing experience and very large groups can even travel in flotillas  from Procida.

Our flotillas mean that very large groups can have their own yacht space but also sail together and meet up in key locations – whether that is at sea, or on land.

• Procida: Terra Murata Wine Bar: For those looking for a combination of great food and local wines, Terra Murata Wine Bar is an excellent choice. 
• Naples: For truly authentic Italian food, try out Cibi Cotti (Nonna’s Kitchen) food that will warm your heart and bellies.
• Amalfi: Hostaria di Bacco gives diners a spectacular view of the ocean, from high up in the mountains. The food and wine selections are divine.

Underwater Adventures

• Both Naples and Ventotene have incredible dive sites to offer – the sunken ships in both areas offer refuge to marine life around their wrecks.
• Capri’s Blue Caves have been mentioned a lot – but that is for good reason, they are truly breathtaking.

History and Culture

Procida and the Pontine Islands with their rich history, offer various sites for exploring the cultural heritage of the region. Here are some of the best places for history and culture around the Pontine Islands:

• Ventotene Roman Villa (Villa di Giulia Felice): Explore the well-preserved Roman villa on the island of Ventotene. The villa, believed to belong to Giulia Felice, provides insights into Roman architecture and lifestyle.
• Ventotene Archaeological Museum: Located in the heart of Ventotene, this museum displays artifacts from the Roman period, offering a deeper understanding of the island’s historical significance.
• Ponza Harbor and Historic District: Wander around Ponza’s lively harbour, surrounded by colourful buildings and traditional architecture. The historic district reflects the island’s maritime past and is a charming area for exploration.
• Ponza Castle (Castello di Ponza): Perched on a hill overlooking the harbour, the castle provides panoramic views of Ponza. Originally built for defence, it offers a glimpse into the island’s mediaeval history.
• Palmarola Archaeological Site: Palmarola, though sparsely inhabited, has archaeological sites that reveal evidence of ancient human presence. Explore the island’s less-known historical aspects.
• Zannone Island: Although uninhabited today, Zannone has historical significance. The ruins of a Benedictine monastery and a Roman-era fishpond make it an interesting destination for history enthusiasts.
• Grotte di Pilato (Pilate’s Caves) on Ponza: These sea caves are named after the legend that Pontius Pilate was exiled to Ponza. Explore the caves by boat to witness their natural beauty and learn about their historical associations.

The best time to visit Procida is between May and September – when the weather is warm and the average wind speed rarely creeps above 3 knots. 

It is worth noting that toward the end of July and throughout August, the average temperature is 29°C – which may make some activities (hikes etc) difficult.

Our Procida yacht charters require level 2 or above experience from a sailor, which means the sailor will need at least 10 days or 200 miles as skipper on an equivalent size yacht. 

Mild and balmy summer breezes originating from the northwest typically range between 8 and 12 knots, with a shift towards southerly winds later in the afternoon. The tidal range remains below 0.5m, and the area experiences minimal tidal currents or wind-driven currents.

Our yacht charters from Procida start at £1,188, off peak and on a basic package. 

They can range higher as, like any holiday, the cost of chartering a yacht varies depending on the number of people, the yacht type, the time of year and more.

The nightly cost for buoys is approximately EUR 50 and should be settled directly at each anchorage.
