Family courses
Overview
Sunsail actively promotes and encourages families to develop their sailing skills together and offers a wide range of courses designed for family groups.
Children between the ages of eight and 18 can join their parents on Sunsail one-day taster, RYA Start Yachting and RYA five-day Competent Crew courses at Port Solent base, while 16 to 18-year-olds can join any of Sunsail’s courses worldwide, as long as they are accompanied by an adult. 17-year-olds can qualify as a Coastal Skipper, but only if accompanied by an adult.
Family sailing courses are run all year round, but half terms and school holidays tend to book up early.

Family courses
Enjoy the vacation of a lifetime while learning new skills with our Flotilla Starter and Flotilla Hero packages. Flotilla Zero gives you the skills you need to take the helm on your flotilla vacation. Flotilla Hero helps you earn an RYA qualification, allowing you to skipper a yacht at any of our global destinations. These courses are available from our sailing schools in Greece or Croatia.
