The looming mountains that form an enclave around the beach offer some breath-taking scenery. While this beach has become an icon on Thailand’s tourism promotions, it is still worth visiting.
James Bond Beach or Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay firmly put Thailand’s beaches on the map when it was used as the backdrop to the classic James Bond film in 1974. The beach became an instant sensation and has been visited by thousands of tourists over the decades.
Monkey Beach
The name says it all. This beach nearby Koh Phi Phi is home to a large colony of monkeys that can be found all around the beach, just don’t leave your belongings unattended and don’t feed them. They can be very mischievous. The beach itself also offers wonderful scenery with a lush green forest as a backdrop.
Phra Nang Beach
For those who can remember the iconic Mortal Kombat film, you will find that some of the fighting scenes took place on this picturesque beach. The beach is home to a famous fertility shrine, a cave and beautiful clear waters to go snorkelling and swimming in.
